Congratulations to all those who participated for great causes.

Grove RFC support main partner SSNAP at the Oxford Half Marathon

Today saw the annual Oxford Half Marathon with almost 10,000 runners completing the 13.1 mile course.

Grove RFC were proud to have 20 club players and members supporting SSNAP at the event, 15 of which came from our up and coming ladies team.

The Oxford Half Marathon, renowned for its picturesque route and challenging course, proved to be the ultimate test of endurance for these dedicated players, with everyone completing the 13.1 mile race, marking a significant milestone for many who completed their first-ever half marathon, including baby of the team, Ella McCarthy at the tender age of 17!

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is the commitment to the SSNAP Charity. SSNAP support Grove RFC as a partner and are the main shirt sponsor of our ladies and a number of our junior teams. SSNAP, short for Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents, is a local charity dedicated to providing essential support to families with sick or premature babies. The ladies team from Grove have raised £2400.00 to date and would like to get this figure over £3000.00 in the next few days.

[i]Rumour has it a number of players have already agreed to take part in the event again next season, including Club Captain, James Monks, Ladies Captain, Nez Lightfoot and Safeguarding officer, Nicola Wilson. (currently rumours)

On behalf of the runners and SSNAP we would like to thank everyone for their support and donations to date. Please go to the just giving page if you are inspired by the team for running and SSNAP for the priceless support that they deliver on a daily basis.
